**Some facts about Tahitian keshi pearls : When a cultured pearl is growing, an additional pearl will occasionally develop, too. Unlike round & baroque pearls, these tiny 'accidental' pearls have no cultured nucleus and instead form in much the same way as a wild pearl. These small pearls are comprised entirely of nacre, generally have a brilliant luster, and are known as 'Keshis' which is the Japanese word for 'poppy seed'.
